Bordeaux won last season's European Rugby Champions Cup. They begin their defence with a tricky Pool 4 away game at Bulls. Also in this pool are Bristol, Northampton, Section Paloise and Sharks. Time for our match prediction.

Bulls only finished fifth in their pool last season. They were transferred to the European Challenge Cup and were losing quarter-finalists. The South African club are currently eighth in the United Rugby Championship but have won two of their three home games this season.

Home victories have come against Osprey and Leinster but they lost to Lions. Following this game, Bulls travel to England to face Northampton Saints (last year's losing finalists) so they will be keen to get a home win this weekend.

Bordeaux are the defending champions but like their opponents, come into this match having lost their last two games. A home loss to Section Paloise (just by a solitary point) was followed by a defeat at Montpellier. Those two losses have left the Begles sixth in Top 14.

Their away form has produced two wins in Top 14 this season but they have been beaten on four occasions. This is going to be another tough game for them and we tip Bulls to start their campaign with a home victory.
