Manchester United came from behind to get a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Reds are seventh in the Premier League and will aim to get three more points when they host 17th-placed West Ham United. Time for our match prediction.
The win at Selhurst Park was an important one for United after a poor run of late. They ended the weekend only a point behind the top five and a return to the Champions League. Now they face two games this week against sides in the bottom four with a trip to Wolves at the weekend.
Sunday was a sad day for West Ham United. After the news of the death of former captain and manager Billy Bonds, the Hammers were then beaten 2-0 at home by Liverpool. They are only out of the relegation zone on goals scored1 and have a nightmare fixture list in early December. After this trip to Old Trafford, they play Brighton away, Aston Villa at home and then travel to Manchester City.

Manchester United had gone three league games without a win before playing at Crystal Palace on Sunday. It was looking bad for them when trailing 1-0 but two quick goals took them to a welcome 2-1 win and only a point behind the top five.
The Red Devils will want to get back into winning ways at Old Trafford. United had won four of their five home league fixtures this season before being beaten 1-0 at home by ten-men Everton. Five of their last six league games have seen both teams score.
West Ham are struggling to stay out of the bottom three.
West Ham have only earned 11 points from their first 13 league games with eight defeats already. They lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. Only two of their last ten league games have been won, both on home soil.
On their Premier League travels, the Irons have only won at Nottingham Forest. Since that win, they have only earned two points from four games. Of that quartet of fixtures, both teams have scored in three of them.

Manchester United lost their last home league game 1-0 to Everton. After the win at Palace on Sunday, United won't want to lose momentum by failing to beat West Ham on Thursday evening. Good news for the Reds is that Mattheus Cunha is training again and is likely to be available for selection.
Will he be able to force his way into the starting line-up after both Zirkzee and Mount impressed on Sunday. If Cunha is available to play, he may have to start the match on the subs bench. Not a bad sub to bring on in the second half.
Paqueta is suspended for West Ham again.
West Ham continue their tough run of Premier League fixtures. The Hammers will be without Lucas Paqueta who is serving his second ban of the season. Matteus Fernandez may move into central midfield with Luis Guilherme playing out wide.
Another hammer blow for West Ham is the possible absence of Crysencio Summerville. Also doubtful are Oliver Scarles and Lukasz Fabianski as West Ham try to get to the weekend above the relegation zone.

With two very winnable fixtures this week, Manchester United could soon be in the top five. Their win at Palace on Sunday was an important one for the Reds and ended a run of three league games without a victory, including a 1-0 home loss to Everton.
Before that, United's home form had been good. West Ham continue to be inconsistent and will do well to stay out of the bottom three this month. Our main Manchester United v West Ham prediction is Manchester United wins and lead at half and full time.
