Elland Road faithful will hope the positive vibes will continue on Saturday as Leeds United welcome a struggling Liverpool side in a matchday 15 fixture. This match between the 17th-placed Whites and eighth-placed Reds comes with our prediction of both teams scoring goals.
With 14 points ahead of this round (W4, D2, L8), Leeds are only three points above the relegation zone. Liverpool’s 22 points (W7, D1, L6) see them start this round just a point outside the European qualification spots, although that could change after Manchester United’s match against West Ham.
Regardless of their position before the round, Liverpool will feel the need to win points, especially as they lost four of their five recent league trips. Leeds are still under relegation threat, but the win over Chelsea has given them fresh impetus. Is that enough to score another upset and move farther away from the relegation zone? Or will Liverpool get their campaign on track? Read more for our analysis, team news, and match predictions.

Leeds defeated Chelsea 3-1 at home on Wednesday to snap a four-game losing sequence. The Whites have lost six of their eight recent league games (W2), which explains why they are closer to the relegation zone.
Elland Road has seen a different story, as Leeds have won three and lost only two of their seven Premier League fixtures at this venue this season. The last five games in that sequence saw goals from both teams, which could once again be the case here.
Leeds won eight of their last 14 competitive home matches.
Liverpool were held to a 1-1 home draw by Sunderland in the midweek fixture, failing to build on a 2-0 win over West Ham. The Reds have now lost six of their nine recent league games, winning only two.
With teams around them also failing to be consistent, top four is still within Liverpool’s reach. That would need them to overturn their poor recent form on the road, as the Reds were beaten in four of their last five away league games (W1), although that win came in their last trip.

Leeds will be without Daniel James and Sean Longstaff for this match, with the duo sidelined until at least the new year. Coach Daniel Farke is likely to stick with the same side that won against Chelsea.
The hosts usually lined up in a 4-3-3 formation but stuck to 3-5-2 against Chelsea, with the midfield stifling the creativity of the Blues. With that system set to continue, it will be Lukas Nmecha looking to add to his count of four league goals in this campaign.
Nmecha has three goals in his last four league matches.
Liverpool don’t have any new injury absentees but will hope that Conor Bradley is fit and available. The big question for the visiting camp is around Mohamed Salah, who has been dropped from the starting XI for two consecutive match weeks.
Their 4-2-3-1 system could thus be led once again by Alexander Isak, while Florian Wirtz slots in right behind him. The German midfielder sparkled against Sunderland, but the challenge now is to be consistent. Cody Gakpo (four goals, three assists) is likely to be the cornerstone of their attacks.

Leeds picked up a major scalp by defeating Chelsea in the midweek league game but are still only marginally above the relegation zone. The mood at Elland Road got a lift with that victory, but can they stop Liverpool? The Reds are going through all sorts of troubles, and the 1-1 draw against Sunderland could have been worse. With their strikers struggling and defenders failing to live up to the expectations, Liverpool are plagued with problems all across the pitch.
Goals are likely to flow here, and our Leeds United vs Liverpool prediction is BTTS.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in consecutive matches for Leeds and will have an extra incentive to do well here. The former Evertonian will take pride in getting one past Everton’s arch rivals Liverpool. This match could be his chance to add another goal to his account.
