Sixth-place Colombia and eighth-placed Bolivia face off on Thursday in the penultimate CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup qualifying fixture. It’s a high-stakes match in Barranquilla between Los Cafeteros and La Verde! Who will come out on top? Check out our prediction below!
Colombia can punch their ticket to North America with a win, while a draw might also be enough depending on other results. Bolivia, meanwhile, are fighting an uphill battle for qualification. Anything other than three points on Thursday will see them eliminated from contention.
The hosts come into this matchup off the back of a hard-fought 1-1 stalemate away against Argentina back in June. It was a tough result to take considering that Colombia was 1-0 up against 10-man Argentina heading into the final 10 minutes before Almada’s equalizer.
That result was their third draw in a row as Nestor Lorenzo’s side has now gone six matches without a win (D3, L3).
Bolivia finally put an end to their own six-match winless run with a 2-0 home victory over Chile in their last outing. The result brings them up to 16 points, one behind seventh-place Venezuela for a playoff spot and five behind Colombia.
As is usually the case with La Verde, most of their success has come in the high altitude of La Paz. They’ve managed a 4-2-2 record on home soil compared to 1-0-7 on the road.

Colombia have shown flashes of attacking production when playing in the humid Barranquilla. They’ve struggled for consistency lately, but they did score twice on a very solid Paraguay defense and put four past Chile at this ground.
Bolivia can often surprise teams when playing in La Paz due to the huge advantage that they possess as they are acclimated to the altitude. However, it’s a completely different story on the road. On Colombia’s home turf, we’re expecting an easy win for Los Cafeteros who should wrap up their World Cup spot. Our Colombia vs Bolivia prediction: Colombia team total over 2.5.
