Round one of the indoor hard court Erste Open in Vienna sees wild card Filip Misolic face unseeded Camilo Ugo Carabelli. Whoever wins this match will take on either third seed Alex de Minaur or wild card Jurij Rodionov in round two. Read our match prediction below.
Filip Misolic leads Carabelli 2-1 in previous meetings. They are level 1-1 on clay but Misolic won the only hard court match, a win in Miami two years ago when Carabelli retired in the second set at 3-6 3-5.
Misolic is 95th in the live rankings, 45 places below his opponent. The 24-year-old has a 13-12 record on hard courts this year. Last week saw him win two qualifying matches before losing in round one of the Stockholm Open. He'd lost six matches in a row before last week.
He has won a Challenger Tour hard court title this year but is yet to get past round one of an ATP Tour event on this surface.
Camilo Ugo Carabelli has only won five of his 15 hard court matches this year. Like his opponent, he's far more at home on clay. Carabelli has lost six of his last seven matches, all played on hard courts. The only win came when his opponent retired in set one.
We tip Misolic to win in straight sets.
