Burnley - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Burnley returned to the English top flight this season after a season in the Championship and once again look primed to go back down. Scott Parker’s men are having a tough time and have managed just three wins so far.
They have lost an alarming nine games, and only bottom-placed Wolves have lost more. With 10 points, however, they still can salvage their season if they can build up some momentum.
The hosts are just two points off 16th place, and even a point against Palace can lift them out of the red zone. Burnley saw their current losing streak extended to four games this past weekend after falling 3-1 away to Brentford.
Both Burnley and Crystal Palace are coming off defeats.
Palace are also coming into this round after losing consecutive games. Oliver Glasner’s men have lost their last two matches and will be keen to offer a response.
This is the first time this season that the Eagles have lost back-to-back games. They are coming off a 2-1 loss at home to Manchester United that denied them the chance to move into the top five.
Palace lost the lead in that match, as well as a horde of chances to win the game. The defeat, their third of the season, came right on the heels of another 2-1 setback away to Strasbourg in the Conference League.
