Under the beaming lights at the BayArena, Bayer Leverkusen are braced for the ultimate battle against the power-packed Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. Die Werkself are in 25th place in League Phase standings, while the Parisians are third after the first two games. Check out our match prediction below!
Following the shocking decision to sack Erik ten Hag after just three games at the helm, Bayer Leverkusen are trending upward under Kasper Hjulmand, who has yet to lose a match since taking charge last month. However, this is without doubt the toughest assignment the Dane will face in his short tenure at the BayArena to date.
While they have endured a frustrating start to their domestic campaign, PSG have lived up to their title as Kings of Europe so far this term with two wins in two. The defending champs have now won 12 of their last 14 UCL matches and each of their last five in the League Phase of this competition. German grit meets French flair in this contest - let’s get into the key stats!

Bayer Leverkusen will be hoping to notch up their first win of the 2025-26 Champions League season this week, following back-to-back draws against Copenhagen and PSV over the first two matchdays.
Die Werkself enter this match off the back of a thrilling 4-3 victory over Mainz in the Bundesliga at the weekend and are now unbeaten in their last eight matches across all competitions (W4 D4 L0).
The hosts have also avoided defeat in their last four home games (W2 D2), and have only suffered one loss in their last 17 at the BayArena in UEFA competitions (W14 D2 L1).
Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last five group-stage matches in UEFA competitions against French opposition!
Meanwhile, after only taking four points from their first five UCL League Phase games last season, PSG have stormed out the blocks with consecutive victories against Atalanta and Barcelona this term.
However, the Red and Blues were far from convincing in their two league games since overcoming Blaugrana, playing out back-to-back draws against Lille and Strasbourg either side of the international break.
In five away games across all competitions this season, the visitors have a record of W3 D1 L1, and they have only managed to maintain one clean sheet in this period, which was against Nantes in mid-August.

Hjulmand has a laundry list of absentees at present, with the likes of Lucas Vazquez, Jarell Quansah, Axel Tape, Patrick Schick, Nathan Tella and Exequiel Palacios all ruled out through injury.
Additionally, Alejo Sarco will not be back in time from the FIFA U-20 World Cup final with Argentina to feature here, while Malik Tillman is only slated to return to training next month.
Teenager Christian Kofane scored Leverkusen’s only goal against PSV and has netted in both league matches since then. The Cameroonian will almost certainly lead the line for the hosts this weekend.
Marquinhos scored when these two teams last met in the Champions League!
That was over a decade ago when the Brazilian was just 20 years old, but the PSG skipper is a doubt for this match owing to a muscle injury, which forced him to sit out the draw at the weekend.
Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele is also sidelined at present, which should see Goncalo Ramos continue to lead the line. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should return to the attack after coming off the bench against Strasbourg.
Fabian Ruiz (leg) and Joao Neves (hamstring) are the only other absentees for the visitors, while rising star Noham Kamara has yet to return from international duty with France U-20s.

While Bayer Leverkusen are installed as big underdogs in this match, they have been tough to beat of late, now riding an eight-match unbeaten streak dating back to the opening week of the Bundesliga season.
Given their performances over the first two matchdays of their UCL title defence, PSG will fancy their chances of notching up another win here, but they have been leaky in defence recently. Therefore, we’re expecting to see goals at both ends in this one. Our Bayer Leverkusen vs PSG prediction is both teams to score.
PSG wins the match
Bayer Leverkusen have yet to win a match in the Champions League this season, while PSG notched up back-to-back victories over the first two matchdays of this campaign and have now won their last five League Phase games in this competition.
